Preliminary task film draft - step by step

With the making of my Film Noir film draft, 'Dear Murderer', I had to create it through different steps.
I wrote and printed out three versions of the script. One for myself, and one each for the two characters in the scenes. I then asked two of my classmates, Oliver Williams and Thomas Ward, both actors, to read through the script whilst I filmed it so I had an idea of what I wanted with Oliver reading the lines of the protagonist and Thomas reading the lines of the Femme Fatale.

Casting wise, I decided to cast people I know and also people who act regularly. This is because they would be easier to work with which would make filming quick without having to do too many takes.
For my Femme Fatale I casted Elizabeth Martin. The reason why is because she has very beautiful Femme Fatale features, including long brown hair, dark lips, pale skin and a light shade of rosy cheeks and she's a fantastic actress so I thought she would be perfect for the role. If she styled her hair and did her makeup very typical Femme Fatale way, then she would look just right for the character I wanted in the draft.
For my Protagonist I casted Oliver Williams. This is because he is attractive, like most protagonist's are yet he has a serious and sincere look which is a factor to help portray the character's emotions and personality. Although when his hair and makeup is done, I would move the hair out of his face so that there is a lot of chance to use extreme close-ups of his eyes. I'm sure when he wears the Detective's costume, he would look like an ideal Film Noir Detective.

When I uploaded the video to YouTube so it can be accessed, I chose to write captions on the video under 'English (United Kingdom)' in case people who are deaf or have partial hearing decide to watch it and this took about 15-20 minutes to do as I needed to make sure that the subtitles were edited in the right dialogue parts.

The Music

Throughout the 3 minute film, there is a distinct piece playing which helps to create layers and tension. For example, if there would be no music underlaying the film then the audience would never get the correct feel for the genre or the feeling.
I found this piece on a free website that lets people download film noir style music for free. It took me a while to decide which one I liked the most and which would fit the film best but I eventually came across the perfect one.
